2K Spring 1 Week 2

12 Jan 2023

We have had a fun and engaging week in Year 2!

English
This week we have written events in chronological order, have studied expanded noun phrases and have used time conjunctions in sentences. This will build on to our recounts of the Road Safety show.

Maths
We are continuing with shape and have drawn in lines of symmetry, completed symmetrical images and have sorted 2D shapes based on their characteristics.

Visit
This week the school had a visit from Rock Steady, an educational group who have a passion for teaching and performing rock/metal music with children. Year 2 had a great time and got involved with the assembly and their workshop.

Religion
This week we have studied one of the stories that Jesus told - The Good Samaritan. We discussed the meaning of this story and related it to the virtue of kindness to all.

Notices

  • Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child's name. We have increasing numbers of children losing items of clothing and looking for them will no longer be done by staff. It will be your child's responsibility to locate missing items of clothing outside of lesson time.
  • PE will still be on Thursday afternoons this term, so please ensure your child is wearing their PE kit to school on this day.
  • We have noticed that infractions to the uniform policy are becoming increasingly regular. For the avoidance of doubt:
    • Long hair must be tied back.
    • Nail varnish and lip gloss is not allowed.
    • Jewelery of any kind is not allowed.
