Week 4 Summer 2 5S

27 Jun 2025

Well done for another brilliant week, 5S!

This week has been assessment week. The pupils have peformed so, so well in their assessments- we couldn't be any prouder of them! They showed dedication and resilience, and have proved that they are ready for Year 6 come September. The class performed particularly well in their Reading paper, with the majority of the class passing and many children achieving greater depth level!

In Maths, we also completed a unit on Negative Numbers. The children did very well with this unit, as many of them have solid prior knowledge. We found the difference between positive and negative numbers, compared different numbers and ordered them too.

In Music, the children have been learning all about Balinese music. Miss West taught them this week and she said how impressed she was with many of their voices and how much effort they put in! The pupils all really enjoy Music, and remain sensible whilst performing.

In Science, we have continued our topic learning all about Science Week- Change and Adapt. Our next lesson was learning all about food packaging and made our own natural food packaging! We made it out of beeswax pellets, and melted them in the oven. We then let them solidify and created a mould of packaging to keep our food in!
