W/C 21.04

Miss Booth - 29 Apr 2025

Welcome back!

Year 3 have had a great week this week!

In English we have started reading our new topic book 'Escape from Pompeii'. Over the next few weeks the pupils will be learning how to write a non-chronological report about the city of Pompeii.

In Shared Reading we have been looking at the poem 'IF' and pupils have been answering VIPERS questions linked to the poem.

In Maths we have continued our 'fractions' unit and next week we will have our end of term unit assessment. The pupils will then be moving onto Money.

In History we have started our topic 'Emperors and Empires'. So far we have created a timeline, understanding when key events happend during The Roman Era. Next week we will look at this more in depth.

In Science, we have started our topic 'Plants'. This week we looked closely at the different parts of a plant and dissected a Lilly. Next week we will look at what a plant needs to grow and the pupils will be working in groups to plant their own flower in class.

Please remeber Thursday is our PE day and pupils must come to school wearing their PE Kit.

Please make sure you are accessing TTRS at least 5 times a week and reading at home 5 times a week.
