Year 5 Autumn term update

Miss Line - 15 Dec 2020

Autumn term in Year 5

English
This term in English we have enjoyed reading Charlotte’s web and The Secret Garden. We have produced many excellent pieces of writing based on these books such as setting descriptions, narratives and poetry.

Maths
In Maths we have completed lots of work on number and place value and have started looking at area and perimeter which we will continue next term.

Topic
As part of our topic, we have had a look at which countries around the world produce the food we eat. We have also used a range of different art materials to create pictures and sculptures of various plants.

Science
For Science, we have looked at sound, animals and their lifecycles and electricity. We particularly enjoyed creating and testing electrical circuits. We also took part in Science Day where all children across the school completed an experiment on dunking biscuits.
