Mrs Shah update

29 Jun 2025

It has been a lovely, yet busy week in Year 1. The children have been completing their final assessments of the year and have worked really hard. We are very proud of all of them and the effort they put in.
In English, we planned an information text about the seasons, focusing on the suffixes -er, -est, and -ing.
In Maths, we started exploring money. If you have the chance, please give your child the opportunity to look at some real coins and use them to pay for something in the shops—it's a great way to reinforce their learning!
In R.E., we learned about the celebrations for a new baby in the Sikh and Muslim faiths. It was lovely to hear the children talk about their own experiences related to these celebrations.
We all enjoyed Shared Learning with the grown-ups this week. It’s safe to say that the ball and cup toy was very popular! The children also had a wonderful time performing in their class assembly, and they made us all very proud!

Dates for your diary:
Wednesday 16th July- Meet the new teacher day
Monday 21st July- FOB BradyFest
Tuesday 22nd July – Final day of term. School closes at 1.15pm.
