Summer 2 week 2

This week we have started our new class text ‘Leaf’. Children wrote their predictions about the story and a descriptive setting of the first page. Children have been learning about the difference between fiction and non-fiction books.
Maths
In maths, we have been looking at using groups of and sorting objects in into equal groups.
Below is a link to an excellent app that you may wish to use to support your child’s maths skills for 1 min per day, which also follows the scheme we use in school.

Science
We have started our new plants topic and children are experimenting with the different conditions for growing a healthy plant.
Please send your child in with a sunhat and water bottle every day.
Just a reminder of a few changes and events for next week:
Our PE day has changed for next week only as we have a school trip on Thursday.
1OS has PE on Tuesday
1K has PE on Wednesday.
Thursday 23rd June is our class trip to Rainham Marshes.
Friday 24th June is Cultural day – please see the letter sent.
