Spring Term 2 Week 1

We had a surprise visitor this week who is staying with us for the term – Paddington Bear! Children are very excited to have a class visitor. This week we have been focusing on what a question is and how we write questions.
Maths
This week we have been focusing on subtraction and looking at fact families. Children have been working really hard to recognise and understand the relationships between numbers in a calculation.
Science
We have started our new science topic, exploring everyday materials and where they come from.
Topic
Our topic this term has a geography focus and we have learned about the four countries of the United Kingdom and capital cities.
A few reminders
Tuesday 1st March is Shrove Tuesday we will be making pancakes – if your child has any allergies or you don’t wish them to take part to speak to your child’s class teacher.
Thursday 3rd is world book day children can come dressed as their favourite character from a book, please bear in mind we have PE and your child’s costume needs to be appropriate for this.
