Summer week 4 Year 1

This week, we finished writing our polar bear fact files. Children are now focusing on writing narratives and descriptions using our class text Leaf.
In maths we have been focusing on subtraction, counting back and using number bond knowledge. Children are also becoming more confident with the place value of larger numbers.
Thank you for helping make ‘Come Dressed as a Scientist Day’ a great success, children thoroughly enjoyed dressing as different types of scientists and explaining how their outfits related to science. They had fun learning about Anita Roddick (our allocated scientist), making bath bombs as well as collecting and analysing data on our favourite smells.
