Week 3 Spring 2 5S
12 Mar 2026
Well done for another great week, Year 5.
This week has been assessment week. The pupils have completed 6 papers: Maths arithmetic, Reasoning A, Reasoning B, GPS, Reading and spellings. All adults will get given a report at parental consultations next Wednesday 18th March, which will detail your child's results, including areas of focus.
We have seen progress from the majority of children, especially in reading. We know we have lots to focus on, with reasoning and grammar in particular. We are very proud of the children's focus and resilience during the assessments- well done year 5!
In Geography, we have continued with our topic Sow, Grow, Farm. We completed a lesson looking at the different climate zones across the world, then looked particularly at North and South America. The children then looked at different types of farming across both of the continents, and looked at what types of farming would work in the different climates.
In Science, we looked in more detail at different animals, from mammals to insects, and we researched using chromebooks. The children were researching about their habitats, life cycle and where we would find them in the world.
Please ensure you have booked an appointment for parental consultations next Wednesday 18th March!
Have a lovely weekend.
