Reception D - Mrs Divall Class News

This week, we have had an amazing week learning all about Dinosaurs.

We started off as palaeontologists, sifting through sand for salt-doh fossils.  We went back in time in a machine to a prehistoric dinosaur hunt around the hall, where we had to work together to solve clues.  We have been learning the names and features of famous dinosaurs and had a dinosaur quiz against the teachers – the children have very good dinosaur knowledge!

We have been teaching the children about armoured dinosaurs, and the differences between herbivores and carnivores. 

In maths we have been creating pictograms about dinosaurs and discussing our results.  We have also been consolidating our knowledge of counting dinosaurs accurately.

For music, we had a special treat and went to a RockSteady assembly and workshop – we learned to play We Will Rock You.  The children loved this and are bringing home a letter about a rock band club.  In PSHE, We are going to meet PC Sims tomorrow to learn about Stranger Danger in class.
