Pirates and the beach!

Mrs Divall - 30 Jun 2015

 Hello everyone,

Our topic for this week is Pirates! What a lovely day we have had at the beach today.  I must say that all of the children behaved very well and we had a great time.  Thank you to the parents who were so helpful and kind on our trip.

We have been learning a pirate song and dance, and a new pirate game.
We are going to be digging for treaure using the metal detectors, counting our treasure and making artistic stormy sea pictures.  We will be finding out some technical parts of a pirate ship - the helm, rigging, jolly roger etc and we will be learning the name and a few facts about the famous pirate Blackbeard. We are also junk box modelling to make some pirate ships to test out in our learning about floating and sinking.

Have a lovely sunny evening!
