Welcome back! We hope you had a lovely christmas break :)
This Half-Term our topic is Dangerous Dinosaurs. We will also be looking at Chinese New Year and Weather.
This week, we began our new Phonics groups! Your child will be coming home with either a red reading book, a purple sound blending book or intial sound sheets. Please make sure you are reading with your child atelast 3 times a week at home. If you could not attend the Phonics meeting on the 8.01 but would like more information, please ask your class teacher for a copy of the information letter.
In Maths, we have been exploring and comparing capacity. We have been making predicitons and using vocabulary such as full, empty, half-full and nearly empty. We have also been looking at 6,7 and 8 and matching numeral to pictorial. Our story of the week was Rumble In the Jungle. We discussed our favourite animal and why. We practisied using our fine motor skills by making and roleplaying with different animal masks. We also focused on Habitats which the children really enjoyed.
