Reception Spring 1 Week 5

Mrs Divall - 01 Feb 2023

This week we have been busy bees in Reception.

We have been enjoying our phonics lessons.  Please check your child’s reading record as some of their reading books and book change days are different.

We have been busy practising our class assembly.  You are welcome to attend, it is on Monday 6th February at 9.15-9.30am.

In maths we have been composing 6, 7 and 8.  You can practise this at home with your child (e.g. 6+1=7, 5+2=7).

In topic we have been learning about RE.  We have learnt about why Christians go to church and designed stained glass windows.  We will be learning about why Muslims visit a mosque and we will be decorating a mosque picture later in the week.

Additional reminders for the School trip (Wednesday 8th February)

  • Your child will be very tired as it is a big exciting day out, if you can put them to bed early and give them a big breakfast

  • Wear SCHOOL UNIFORM NOT PE KIT.  Wear trainers. NO DISCO CLOTHES

  • No money needed

  • Give travel sickness medication if your child gets sick before you send them in!

  • Bring a coat, a water bottle and lunch in a RUCKSACK your child will have to carry their own stuff!! Put a spare pair of pants or knickers in if your child is likely to wet themselves.  Don’t bring reading books as we won’t be able to change them on a school trip.

  • Children need to be picked up at 3.15 UNLESS YOU HAVE PAID FOR THEM TO GO TO THE DISCO IN WHICH CASE DON’T COME UNTIL 4.30
