Autumn 1 Week 1 and 2

Welcome back to Year 1. The children have settled well into the new routines and expectations of KS1. We have enjoyed starting our new topics and exploring the layout of our new classrooms.
We have been reading ‘The Colour Monster’ during English lessons this week. We have created simple sentences ensuring that we use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops in the correct places.
During Maths lessons, we have enjoyed exploring the place value of numbers up to 10 and creating games with our friends using tens frames and dice.
Please ensure slips for our trip to Barleylands on the 22nd September are sent in. This includes filling out the information about lunch choices.
Reading books will be changed on Wednesday. But please ensure these are in book bags everyday.
The children in Year 1 will change their library books on a Thursday.
