Miss Burgess update

01 Dec 2023

English
In English this week, we finished our instuctions to Mr and Mrs Brown and have been learning all about something new! We have read the story Paddington at the Zoo and have used this story to learn all about singular and plurals. We have learned that singular means one and plural means more than one. To apply this in our writing, we have written about the different animals that Paddington saw at the Zoo. We have started to discuss that many times we just add an ‘s’ to the end of the noun but sometimes we have to add an ‘es’ if the noun ends in particular sounds.

Maths
In Maths, we have started our new Geometry topic learning all about 2D and 3D shapes. We have discussed the different properties of these shapes, learned the names of them and have been sorting them in different ways. Today, we have started making patterns with shapes and will continue this learning next week.

Other
In Geogrpahy, we have been learning about the London Landmarks. The children enjoyed looking at the amazing buildings and learning some different facts about them. We also looked at aerial images of London to identify human and physical features and listed them with our friends.

Important Dates/ Reminders
  • Monday 18th December- afternoon tea. This is for the children only. If you have not already, please return your RSVP slip and donation. Thank you 😊
