Mr Ahmed's Update

Year 2 have had an amazing week and adjusted well to their new classes and new phonics groups!
English
This week we have dug deeper into our English unit exploring Neil Armstrong and children have begun planning their own diary entries as Mr Armstrong on the Apollo 11 space mission. We have been practising and writing creative sentences with adjectives and using our success criteria to produce some quality writing!
Maths
We have been continuing with our place value unit and children have used base 10 to flexibly partition numbers to 100. Children have worked really hard to understand these concepts and are now tackling number lines.
Topic
In History we have delved further into our significant people unit and researched Christopher Columbus learning all about his life and what makes him important. We have learned about colour theory and famous still life paintings in art and continued our learning about life cycles in science.
Children have also enjoyed our much awaited Bradyfest where we engaged in some fun post summer activities as well as bounced on the bouncy castle!
