Well done for another brilliant week, Year 5!
This week, in Science, we continued with our topic of Stargazers and explored Space in more detail. This included recapping the planets in our solar system, as well as looking at how we can describe the Sun, Earth and Moon as
approximate spherical bodies.
In Shared Reading, we have carried on reading our book Hidden Figures. The children have shown great engagement with this text, and we have had in-depth conversations about the key themes running through it, including discrimination, segregation and equality.
This week we also had a Music lesson, linked to Stargazers. In this lesson, we looked at a variety of different songs linked to space and disccused the different meanings behind the lyrics.
Please ensure your child is reading 5 times a week at home, and that an adult is signing their reading record.
