Miss Bowden - 14 Nov 2025

Well done year 3 for a brilliant week at school!

We have been very busy this week finishing off our maths topic of addition and subtraction. We have finished our unit by learning how to estimate and use the inverse to check our answers. Next week, we will be moving onto multiplication and division. The best way to support with this unit at home is to be on Timestable Rockstars as much as possible on ‘Garage’ mode. TTRS will also be hosting a competition called ‘England Rocks’ from Tuesday 18th November to Thursday 20th November. The child in each class with the highest average of correct answers will be presented with a certificate in assembly so make sure you have lots of time to play at home!

In English this week, we have become poets, writing our own quatrain about a superhero. We looked at different rhyming schemes and tried to use the scheme AABB to describe our characters.

In science this week, we looked at assembling our own skeleton and labelling some of the bones!

In geography, we were looking at using compass direction to direct each other around the classroom and then turned our skills to navigating a map of a fair ground, trying to find the best route to get from one attraction to another.

In DT this week, we have had a great time making and trying tacos and ratatouille! We carefully cut vegetables to use in our dishes and then used an oven and slow cooker to heat up our delicious dishes!

As always, please continue to read 5 times a week and play on TTRS for a minimum of 5 minutes a day!

Have a wonderful weekend!
