Reception Autumn 1 Week 5

Miss Booth and Miss Skelton - 03 Oct 2025

This week we had a very exciting visit from a firefighter! Pupils were able to learn about how firefighters help the community and what clothes they wear to keep safe. We asked the firefighter many questions to find out what they do and why their job is important.

In maths this week, we have been exploring height and lengths. The pupils have enjoyed working with cubes and ribbon to identify the tallest and shortest tower as well as the longest and shortest piece of ribbon.

We have also been learning how to make new friends and why friends are important. Pupils paired up with people in the class to find out what their favourite thing to do is.

Pupils created a map showing their journey to school. We spoke about the different things we see on our way to school such as; the library, shops, park and the post office.

Next Friday we will be celebrating Space Day, pupils can dress up as something space related. A £1 donation is appreciated.
