Week 5 5PS

03 Oct 2025

Well done for another lovely week, Year 5!

This week, in Reading, we have continued with our class novel Beowulf.  The children have found our text highly engaging, and their ideas have been fantastic.

In English, we have started our new unit of non-chronological reports.  The children have been busy identifying key features of these reports, while also focusing on relative causes and parenthesis.

In Maths, we have continued our topic of additional and subtraction. The children have been working really hard on their work.  We encourage them to continue practicing addition and subtraction word problems at home.

We have concluded our Art topic and have now begun our RE unit.   Our first lesson focused on wisdom, and the children shared some lovely ideas, and enjoyed exploring its meaning across different religions.

In school we have begun our Harvest collection for our local foodbank, and any donations are greatly appreciated.

Please remember that children should be reading 5 times a week at home.

Have a lovely weekend.
