In English this week, the children have been learning how to use commas in a list. They have worked really hard to master this skill and apply it in a range of contexts.
Maths
In Maths, the children learned how to look for patterns, such as number bonds and doubles, to help them add together three 1 digit numbers. They have also been learning how to find the next multiple of ten, and using this skill to add a 1 digit number to a 2 digit number, by crossing over the tens. e.g. 27 + 5 =
Topic
We were really proud of our Year 2s this week as we tackled a sensitive topic in History. We learned about Rosa Parks and the bus Boycott. The children showed fantastic understanding and empathy towards the situation for black people in America at the time. We were very impressed by the questions they had about this significant event in history, and their interest in how Rosa Parks changed the lives of black people in America.
