Class News
Year 6 Summer 1 Week 5
English
This week in English we have been editing and improving a final draft of a non-chronological report. We looked at how to improve our sentence starters and punctuation and copied our edits onto a final draft.
Maths
In Maths we have been looking at the "White Rose Futures" project where we used our knowledge of percentages to calculate the tax of a range of salaries.
Science
For Science we identified how rockets and satellites need to travel accurately in order to orbit the earth and we made our own blow paper rockets. We looked at how we could adapt these to make their flight more accurate.

Year 6 Summer 2 Week 3
Junior Citizens
This week, Year 6 took part in the Havering Junior Citizens event. We looked at a range of scenarios for keeping safe and learnt lots of interesting information.




























Shared Learning
On Wednesday we welcomed lots of adults to our Mexican themed shared learning. We comepleted lots of Mexican crafts and decorated skulls for the festival "Dia de los Muertos". Thank you to all the adults who came.



















Sports Day
On Friday we had our final Sports Day. All pupils participated in the activities and had a great time.
Year 6 Summer 2 Week 2
English
This week in English we have started looking at the features of an informal letter and have looked at how to describe a setting based on our class text "Holes". Next week we will be planning an informal letter based on the events in this text.
Maths
In Maths we have started a project "White Rose Tours" where we have looked at interpreting and creating graphs to show information and have revised how to convert between miles and kilometers.
PSHE
This week has been healthy eating week. As our topic is MExico this half term, we have made our own salsa!
