Nursery Summer 1 Week 2
24/04/2026 4:02 PM

This week our focus stories have been 'The Disgusting Sandwich' and 'The Run Away Pea'. The children have enjoyed making their disgusting sandwiches, counting peas, mark making and being creative. They have also enjoyed making sand castles and playing with the water in the sunshine. The children have loved watching the chicks hatch and grow over the last week and it was sad to say goodbye to them today.

In Phonics we have been focusing on blending CVC words. The children have loved playing 'Fred games'.

Enjoy your weekend!

Nursery Summer 1 Week 4

This week our focus story has been 'The Boy on the Bus'. The children have enjoyed singing along to the story, recognising numbers on pictures of buses, sequencing the story and counting the people on the bus. The children also had lots of fun role playing on the pretend bus. This week the children have continued to practise sound blending with Fred the frog in Phoncis.

Have a lovely weekend!

Nursery Summer 1 Week 3

This week our focus stories have been 'Jasper and the Beanstalk' and 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. The children have enjoyed participating in counting activities and have really impressed us with their ability to match numbers to amounts. The children have continued to care for the plants that we are growing and have been learning about what plants need to survive. In addition, they have been developing their scissor control, fine motor skills and drawing with added detail. The children also made wanted posters for the giant which were wonderful as they carefully thought about the giant's features. Moreover, we have continued to recap the Set 1 RWI single sounds and have continued to practise blending. Finally, we finished our week with dressing up for Aspirations Day and spoke about what the children would like to be when they grow up.

What a great week! Have a lovely weekend.
