Year 3 Week 3
20 Jun 2019
Literacy
This week Year 3 have started to look at animal dilemma stories. The children enjoyed watching various clips and discussing the dilemma, choices, resolution, consequence and moral of each story. The children began to think of and share ideas for their own dilemma stories and acted these out. Next week, they will be planning and editing their writing ensuring that they try to include a range of sentence structures, speech and ambitious vocabulary.
Maths
This week the children have been comparing, adding and subtracting measures. To begin we explored and compared capacity, then they used trundle wheels to measure the field and worked together to convert this from metres to cm. Next week they will be recapping formalised methods for the four operations.
Topic
In Science, the children began to learn that fossils are formed when things that have lived are trapped within rock. In Computing, the children worked hard to make their own predator and prey game which they will continue to build next week.
The children have also been learning the songs and dances ready for the KS2 performance. They have been very excited to be a part of this!
