Message in a bottle
12 May 2017
During this week we have been linking our literacy work with topic work. The children made up their own stories about being shipwrecked on a desert island. Then they had to be very persuasive and send messages in bottles so that they could be rescued. Some letters were very desperate indeed! I hope nobody has been left behind!
In science we started our topic on sound and what we like and dislike. Some children had some unusual sounds that they liked. I was quite surprised. I know I speak for lots of teachers when I say one of the most annoying sounds in class is children playing with the velcro on their shoes! It certainly does not add to the atmosphere when you are recreating with music, a peaceful sandy beach and then you hear the rip of the velcro.!!!!!!!!
Next week we are completing some of the national tests.( See letter in homework wallet)
The children are also going to start making an information book on a sea creature. Therefore,if they want to collect any information or pictures of their creature just bring them into school next week. This could be a whale, turtle, type of fish, crab, dolphin, seahorse, jellyfish. Whatever they like as long as it lives in the sea or an ocean.
Just to let you know in advance our class assembly will be on 22nd June at 2.30. After the assembly you can look at books and see all the fantastic work that they have completed this year.
