First week in 2017

Happy new year. Let's hope 2017 is a great year after the events of 2016.
Thank you for all the presents that the staff in year 2 received. They were all much appreciated.
It's back to business in year 2 with a super start to our topic. The children completed some really interesting projects on a London landmark for homework. They have presented them to their peers and answered questions about them. We had a real range of ideas including Big Ben, Tower of London, British museum, Shard, London Underground, Gherkin ,St Paul's Cathedral, Nelson's column, London aquarium and the Monument. Did you know a fox got into the Shard during construction? There have been 3 babies born on the underground. The Monument was built to remember the fire of London. These are just some of the information snippets we have found out.
In maths we have been showing how we get our answers. In literacy we are writing stories and beginning to use paragraphs.
