Fun and Fruit
Mrs Divall and Mrs Zaayman - 15 Mar 2019
Reception had another great week where they used the book Handa’s Surprise to learn about, think about and taste different fruits.
The children had a fruit stall in the classroom and they have been to the ‘market’ and had a go at buying and selling fruit. From this, the children have also been thinking about money and recognising different coins. They have also taken part in a coin hunt and tried to count out coins, some children even thought about how much different coins totalled e.g. 2p + 5p = 7p.
The children have loved writing this week and you will get to see this in their Learning Journeys and Literacy books next week when you meet with us at Parents Evening. The children wrote all about what happens in the story of Handa’s Surprise, they have made their own Big Book all about fruit and they even drew fruit and labelled it.
Reception also used the laptops to draw different fruits and of course had great fun doing it.
We hope you have a lovely weekend and you enjoy all the photos below.
Enjoy,
Mrs Divall, Mrs Zaayman & the Reception Team.
