We're growing vegetables in Reception!
Mrs Divall - 24 Feb 2016
In Reception this week, we are learning about healthy food choices, such as vegetables.
Alot of us were surprised to discover that chips are made out of potatoes!
In the story, Oliver won't try his vegetables, but his Grandpa tricks him and in the end he discovers he likes them.
We have a pretend vegetable patch in our inside sand pit and the children seem to have been having lots of fun and discussion playing there.
We have all planted a broad bean and we have also planted some cucumbers and carrots.
We put the cress seeds on the wet tissue.
We drew observational drawings of the daffodils today.
Here are our beans...not much happening at the moment....
But we are excited to see our seeds grow into different plants!
We are looking closely at similarities, differences and change. We compared the seeds and what they looked like. The children couldn't believe how small the carrot seeds are.
Tomorrow we are going to check our cress and the daffodils again, to see if anything has happened.
Can you notice any differences on your way to school? Have you seen any blossom or daffodils yet?
