The Scarecrow's Wedding
Mrs Divall - 26 Nov 2015
This week we have been reading 'The Scarecrow's Wedding.'
In Literacy we have been learning about the story and making predictions about what might happen next. We planned a wedding, making paper chains, party dances, cupcakes and balloons and then we acted out Harry O' Hay and Betty O' Barley's big day. Thank you to Max R who retold the his own version of a wedding story for us...
"There once was a boy and a girl. And they were going to get married. They were almost near there and then, they were there. There were loads of decorations. And then there was a cake and there were loads of people waiting." The End.
We have all been having a go at telling our own stories and we have been sitting around our stage to act out our friends stories. This has been very popular this week!
In maths Miss Bhambra has been teaching the children all about partitioning numbers to 5 and 6 when adding, and has also introduced simple subtraction problems.
Tomorrow we have BRICS in the afternoon and also PE. PE has changed in our timetable to either a Thursday or Friday morning due to the hall being used by Premier Sports in the afternoons.
I trust that you have all received the letter about the school trip today. I'm excited about the change of plan and believe the children will have a super fun time at South Weald on the Stick Man trail.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Divall
Unfortunately I didn't get many photos but here's part of our wedding afternoon!
