Reception D - Mrs Divall Class News

This week we have been reading a book about Colin the Carrot and Lee the Pea. This has prompted discussion about growth and plants. We have planted our own pea seeds! This was very exciting for us all, now we are patiently waiting and taking care of our seeds. We have also been talking about healthy and unhealthy foods. We made up a shop and engaged in lots of conversation and activities about healthy and unhealthy food. 

In maths we have been learning about 3D shapes. We have learnt what they are called and how many faces they have. We have also been learning more about the concept of time; how long a minute and an hour is.

In phonics some of us have been brilliant at recapping our sounds and others have learnt 2 new digraphs this week- "ay" and "ee".
